Yes, I call bullshit on all graffiti taggers.
Graffiti tag artists are babies - they keep regurgitating the first word they've learnt (and not 'Mummy' or 'Daddy') - it's their own name. They practice writing it on walls, bus stops, trains, fences, bridges etc, but at no point does the legibility improve.
So maybe you are angry and disenfranchised by a society that places fame, profit and possessions before people, so you idolise the rich and famous and want to emulate them? But not everyone can be famous, so you'll probably fail, and all your efforts will have been wasted. That's not to say that people who do 'urban art' don't get famous and successful, of course they do. But you have to do something more interesting - which is to speak for others rather than yourself.
OK, tip one. If you can't find anything better to write than your name as a 'rebellious act', then at least write your real name instead of a made-up one. That would show some class - a degree of bravery. And then when you've really got your strength up you can add your address and phone number.
And tip two... what the hell are you rebelling against in the first place? Is it walls? Damn those walls! Is it buses and trains, the classic oppressor of the common man? No - what graffiti artists are angry about is that their range of collectable toys, T-shirts, customised athletic shoes and artist's prints for the home aren't selling well enough, when what they should be doing is working at youth clubs, organising a better social politics, reading and finding a way to improve society.
So, to recap, as a graffiti tag artist you are a massive spoilt baby, who wants to constantly cry out into the world, but the problem is that the name you're crying is your own, so no-one is going to answer. And if you want to really annoy our common enemy - rich people, then try writing on their cars instead. Or do you secretly fantasise about getting a flashy car and therefore can't bring yourself to do that?
